Interesting to note that in the face of Public Accounts Committee and customer criticism over standards of customer service that HMRC has today announced a large raft of office closures and staffing cuts over the next ten years and the move to what it calls thirteen "regional centres". What effect will this have on customer service? It is not likely to improve we would suggest!
The Regional Centres will be in Newcastle, Manchester/Liverpool, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Belfast, Glasgow/Edinburgh, Bristol and Stratford/Croydon. No exact locations are known yet.
